Con Special Events
Saturday and Sunday
Welcome to GeekGirlConnections! – Room 101
This year is the debut of a brand new program that GeekGirlCon has created to help you achieve your dreams. At GeekGirlCon ’11 we offered panels with leading women in the fields of science, video games, comics, television, and more. The overwhelming response from our attendees was that you wanted more: more time with these amazing women to learn how they achieved what they did, more information on how to navigate your own career, and more ways that you turn your geeky passion into a geeky career.
It has always been the goal of GeekGirlCon to spotlight, support, and celebrate women in traditionally male-dominated fields like comics and STEM. This year we are taking that one step further and giving our attendees direct access to professionals, who have the answers to your burning career questions.
Career Planning
Don’t know how to get started planning your career? Would you love to work all day on your geeky passion? Do you want to know what’s out there? Spend time with professionals and experts, who can get you started on your career path and help you make your dream a reality.
Networking with Professionals
Sit down in small groups or one on one with leaders in their field. Many of our panelists and GeekGirlCon staff will be available to talk about their careers, how they became leaders in their specific field, and how to get started or take your career to the next level.
