Individual Sponsorship Coordinator

Description:
GeekGirlCon’s Individual Sponsorship Coordinator is in charge of drumming up individual sponsors for the organization, as well as organizing and maintaining all the details of individual donations. This person needs to be enthusiastic and passionate for GeekGirlCon’s cause. Not only do they have to be self motivate, they also need to motivate others. This position requires an enthusiastic attitude with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for details.  Reports to Accounting Manager.

Duties:
- Make sure all sponsorship tier awards/prizes/goodies/comped passes are distributed and all individual sponsors are recognized as promised & in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Regristration and Special Events regarding comped passes to the convention or shows.
- Update website with individual sponsors
- Plan & coordinate individual sponsor “drives” & coordinate w/ departments as needed to run said drives.
- Help re-vamp sponsorship tiers year to year

Requirements:
- Self-motivated and able to operate with little direction.
- Must have proficient experience with Word and Excel
- You must be a clear and effective communicator.
- Clear, concise and compelling communication (verbal and written) skills
- Experience in establishing and communicating business and marketing objectives to individuals to establish and maintain support and enthusiasm.

GeekGirlCon is a 100% volunteer team (sorry, no one gets paid) with a dedicated love for putting on events and celebrations of geeky women. We’re a diverse group from tech geeks and wordsmiths to Doctor Who fans and those who play too much Zelda on the weekends. Being on GeekGirlCon staff requires 5-15 hours a week of dedication, biweekly staff meeting (in the evenings), events going, and of course, attendance at our annual convention. You also must live in the Seattle-area.
