06.10.12 // Join GeekGirlCon’s Staff
GeekGirlCon is growing, and we’d love for you to join us! We’re a 100% volunteer team (sorry, no one gets paid) with a dedicated love for putting on events and celebrations of geeky women. We’re a diverse group from tech geeks and wordsmiths to Doctor Who fans and those who play too much Zelda on the weekends.
Being on GeekGirlCon staff requires 5-15 hours a week of dedication, biweekly staff meeting (in the evenings), events going, and of course, attendance at our annual convention. You also must live in the Greater Seattle area.

Hi Terra! Thanks for already applying for PR position, I know everyone is busy reviewing applicants so you should be hearing from that hiring coordinator soon
As for other positions, please email me at info@geekgirlcom email with your information and specify any other positions you would like to apply too. So I can send your information to the correct hiring coordinator.
Why do you have to live in the Seattle Area to apply?
Hi David,
Staff needs to be able to attend our bi-weekly staff meetings and other local events. GeekGirlCon is much more than just a convention. (In fact, before GeekGirlCon ’11, we hosted over 50 events in the local Seattle area!)
Additionally, while we’ve had some out-of-towners previously on staff (and still have one!), it was really hard for them, especially as they didn’t get to experience their hard work by coming to events or just when say we’d have cupcakes at a meeting and they’d feel left out. While we love the internet — heck, it pays my bills — there’s something to be said for face-to-face time.
Thanks
Erica
